Italian podcast series launched

On 14 June, the Italian podcast series of the Sustaincast project was launched!

The six-episode series will focus on the project's sustainability themes: plastic waste, food and water, fast fashion and sustainable clothing, energy consumption, sustainable transport and travel.

The guests of the Italian series released by the Italian partner Materahub were chosen for their personal passion as well as professional experience in specific aspects of sustainability issues. In addition, the guests were chosen by Materahub so as to also have a variety of perspectives and a diversity of voices on these issues.

The first episode discussed plastic waste with Vincenzo Rizzi of Brio, a new social project that disseminates news and solutions on environmental sustainability and biodiversity issues in a lively way.

In the second episode, with the director Francesco De Augustinis, who specialises in environmental investigations, the relationship between intensive land and sea farming and climate change is touched on in depth. These issues were touched upon in his documentary One Earth - Everything is connected and also in his very recent Until the end of the world, touring Italian cinemas in recent months.

In the third episode, we meet Giulia Fornari, Project Manager for the Materahub consortium, who specialises by passion and profession in environmental issues, especially those related to sustainable clothing and the Swap Party. With Giulia we understand what a Swap party is and how to organise it, and how the principle of sustainable clothing, as opposed to fast fashion, has also entered the sphere of European projects.

In the fourth episode, we talk to Giuseppe Lariccia, a young engineer from Basilicata region, who, by passion and profession, is involved, among other things, in the dissemination of an innovative, efficient and sustainable food production system that can be implemented in our cities.

In the fifth episode, we meet Rocco Di Rella, an expert in waste and in particular in separate waste collection. Thanks to his testimony, gained through many years of experience as a professional in the sector, we will understand first-hand what waste collection, transport and recycling consists of and the great impact that this entire chain, from the citizen to the final plant, has on our environment.

In the last episode, we meet Erika, a trainer in gender and sustainability issues as well as an expert in mindfulness and a photographer focusing on the environment and landscape.
In the last episode, we understand what mindfulness consists of, how it can be practised in everyday life by linking it to the key issues of sustainability, particularly those related to travel, and all the others topics touched upon in the Italian Sustaincast podcast season.
